Description

Yes, after 2 long years she is finally back on track and as beautiful as ever. End of 2011 she went to the Dampflokwerke Meiningen under own power, was then fully stripped down into pieces and fully revisioned. End of October 2013 the technical approval of the type change of the smoke chamber pipe wall and the PZB and GSM-R (Security systems) was done. Then there was a drawback, the return voyage of the BR 01 202 was a double traction with the BR 01 150, sadly though the 01 202 had to cancel the return to Switzerland because of a defect at the adams axle which resulted in a blocked brake, she then had to return to Meiningen to fix the defect.
Then at the 21st of December 2013 she return successfully to Lyss, in January 2014 she had her first "stand-alone" public service, and the picture above is of her second voyage, today as Bratwurstexpress to St.Gallen.

Some additional informations for the interested:

She is one of four operating DRG Class 01 (stand 2013). Every year there are about 2000 working hours invested to keep her running. She is "worked" by the Verein Pacific 01 202 in Switzerland which is located in Lyss. This loco was last in service with the DB and had Witte smoke deflectors. It has retained its original boiler, but lost the front apron. After its retirement in 1975, the engine was rebuilt over a period of 20 years with great initiative and made operational again. It was given a red livery stripe on the tender at the height of the running plate, which wasn't added after her revision 2011-2013. She is a so called running "museum" locomotive, because as you see her in this picutre, she was never running like that during her service for the DB. She is a DB (Deutsche Bahn AG, since 1994) locomotive with Reichsbahn (Deutsche Reichsbahn, 1920-1945) laterns, DRG (Deutsche Reichsbahn Gesellschaft, DRG, 1924-1937) locomotive plate and the smoke chamber central locking is from the DR (Deutsche Reichsbahn, 1945-1993). But in the end you can discuss those facts down to the ground, she is nice to look at and it's always an experience to see, smell and hear her. She isn't a 100% historically correct, but as every piece of enguneering she underwent "modifications". It's the same with some historical reenactment, sometimes you have to make a bit of a compromise.
